Book SalesUpdated 4/30/10 Regular used book sales are a major source of FOL funding. They're held the first Wednesday of each month, and the Saturday following the first Wednesday at the annex located next to the Auburn Library. The contact person for the sales is Jan Bailey. We welcome donations of your used books any time, including during the book sales. Please leave the books on the porch of the annex, or email Jan to make other arrangements. We need to dispel a myth we keep hearing, that The book dealers get all the good stuff. This is simply not true. In the first place, there are only a handful of book sellers who attend our used book sale. Second, our short and to-the-point rules and regulations, which are prominently posted, apply to all. These procedures level the playing field. A couple of examples are no grabbing, as in one book at a time, and on Wednesdays between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., there is a two box limit per book shop or per family. Our steadfast intention is to keep our wonderful used book sale event a fair-for-all, not a free-for-all! Spread the word. If you have any questions, please let Jan Bailey know, at 823-2287. |
