President's Note - June 2009Updated 6/1/09 The NOON programs are on hiatus until October 2nd. Glyneth Cassidy has been doing a magnificent job coordinating these programs for the past 10 years! She already has programs planned for our upcoming year. However, she is always looking for new, interesting programs that will fill the Beecher Room. If you have any suggestions, please let her know. Her email is g-cassidy@sbcglobal.net; her phone number is 885-4201. The Glass Cases in the main library has carvings by Ed Barraza and a display about the Carnegie Library, which is having a centennial celebration on June 11th. Please join us on June 11th, between 6 and 9pm in the garden behind the Carnegie Library on Almond Street. We'll be celebrating the centennial with appetizers and wine. The Used Book Sale is this coming Wednesday, June 3rd 9am-4pm, and the following Saturday, June 6th - 9am-3pm. There are many new books and other items! Guess lots of us are doing Spring Cleaning. On Tuesday, June 9th, the Great Books Discussion Group is meeting in the Beecher Room from 1-3pm. On Wednesday, June 10th, the Auburn Library Book Club will discuss The Soloist by Steve Lopez in the Beecher Room from 11:30-12:45. The FOL Board meets on June 15th in the Beecher Room at 9:30am.
