Building Forward: Library Infrastructure Grant

The Friends of the Auburn Library are asking for your support in encouraging the Placer County Board of Supervisors to allocate matching funds in order to receive a $4.9 million dollar grant from the state to bring our Auburn Library into the 21st century.

The Auburn Library is the busiest and most used Library in the Placer County system, yet there have been few infrastructure upgrades since it was built in 1973. The time is now to take advantage of this once-in-a-generation opportunity.

Please take a minute and contact your Placer County Supervisors to let them know how important this grant match is to our community.  You can call all supervisors at (530) 889-4010, or email District 3 Supervisor Jim Holmes’ District Aide at broberts@placer.ca.gov and District 5 Supervisor Cindy Gustafson at supervisorgustafson@placer.ca.gov.

The website for information on the State Library’s Building Forward Infrastructure Grant Program is https://www.library.ca.gov/services/to-libraries/building-forward. The grant is for addressing life safety, critical maintenance, and modernization needs of the Auburn Library, and contingent on a dollar-for-dollar match by the County. The project must be completed by March 31, 2026.

Thank you for your support for our wonderful Library.
