Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills: Oct 18, 2019

TITLE: Who We Are; What We Do; Why We Do What We Do

Since 2007, the Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills has been enforcing California’s anti-cruelty laws that protect animals from abuse and neglect.  We will provide an overview of our organizational makeup, what constitutes animal cruelty, cover several of California’s animal protection laws and explain how we investigate cases.  Additionally, we will discuss several facts regarding who abuses animals and how to spot puppy mills, backyard breeders and phony rescue groups.   Time permitting, we can discuss facts and tips for kids.  If you suspect animal abuse, report it to your local animal control agency, law enforcement agency, or by contacting us through our website www.animalplace.com.

NOON Speaker Series is FREE and open to the public. We encourage you to bring a sack lunch and a friend and join us in the Beecher Room at the Auburn Library.   The noon to 1pm event is always the first and third Fridays each month except in September and January (third only) and December (first only) from September to May.
